《伤心咖啡馆之歌》读后感100字
The Ballad of Sad Café
Miss Amelia is the richest woman in the
town. It is a town which is maybe just
alike as the one you will see from the
train’s window, being depicted in a kind of
tedious barren color and where people are
seen idle everywhere and gossip-like
rumors fly amidst. In quotation from the
passage, “a place that is far off and
estranged from all other places in the
world.” Miss Amelia is sometimes told in
those rumors due to her strangeness –
indeed, both wealth and eccentricity. Her
experience sounds quite ridiculous for her
arguing on some trifles and a queer
marriage which ends in just 10 days
between her and a man that ranks, in the
town, the first as the most handsome one
amongst boys. But one day, a seemingly
ordinary but crucial day, a hunchback
called Lymon Willis, entered Miss Amelia’s
store, and claimed kin to her. This intruder
should had been expelled, but to
everyone’s surprise, after the hunchback
suddenly sat on the bottom steps and
cried, Miss Amelia gave him a cup of
liquor and then led him into the premises.
People even thought that Miss Amelia
was doing this with an intention for money
-murder. To probe this line, I’ll quote
several sentences here:
“It is known that if a message is written with lemon juice on a clean sheet of paper there will be no sign of it. But if the paper is held for a moment to the fire then the letters turn brown and the meaning be - comes clear. Imagine that the whisky is the fire and that the message is that which is known only in the soul of a man.”
Still puzzled, right? But it is ok, when the
book is read, you’ll find a type of
character that is lacked of in Miss Amelia
in Lymon, a childlike instinct. This
character of Lymon makes him a talking
fish in the store with other guests – as he
has been in the town for years. A span of
romance began like a flame that was
kindled and would sure to be out of
control –unilaterally, still. And here the
writer, again, try to expound the entity of
love to us for firstly line explanations and
secondly disclosure of lovers’ minds. It
mainly says that people, generally, are
inclined to love rather than be loved
because the initiative lover would ask
everything from the other one and
eventually leave a deprived soul for him/
her. Miss Amelia found her destination in
Lymon, she spent almost all her money on
him. But one afternoon, that man, the one
who married Miss Amelia before, came
back from the jail. And Lymon fell in love
with him just at the first eye – an eerie but
affectionate contact. Then Lymon
escaped out of the town with this comely
but cruel man with all the cash and goods
in Miss Amelia’s store. As for Miss
Amelia, she finally, after several months,
locked herself in her premises with all the
window sealed and perish in silence, in
her or his (it should have been before) --
Sad Café.
